Allyship Projects is a community builder, delivering workshops and sharing knowledge across Tāmaki Makaurau. From schools, libraries, and local boards to Latin markets, bingos, and cultural events, we create spaces where people connect, learn, and grow.
ICL Speakers Series 2026 – Unstoppable Migrant Resilience
We recently hosted another successful session of the ICL Speakers Series 2026, featuring Alexia Rojas, Founder of Allyship Projects, who delivered an insightful talk on “Unstoppable Migrant Resilience.”
A key highlight was an interactive activity where attendees reflected on their personal experiences as international students, sharing moments of adversity and the ways they demonstrated resilience. This created a meaningful space for dialogue, allowing participants to understand diverse perspectives and how resilience is uniquely experienced by each individual.
Alexia also introduced her practical framework: the 5 stages of the evolution of migrant resilience:

2️⃣ Finding a sense of belonging
3️⃣ Planting the seed (the grind)
4️⃣ Harvesting the dream (solidification)
5️⃣ Paying it forward (the legacy)

World of Cultures- Botany Library
Last month, Alexia Rojas had the privilege of speaking about the Indigenous Peoples of Latin America at World of Cultures, an event organised in partnership with Auckland Council and Allyship Projects.
Together with the audience, Alexia explored the rich and sophisticated heritage of five remarkable civilisations that existed long before colonisation.
✨ What made the session truly special was seeing families and children create their own zines, drawing and sharing their favourite parts of Latin American history and culture. A powerful reminder that our heritage lives on when we pass it down.

We deliver community-focused workshops funded by Auckland Council, designed to build practical skills and empower participants in Aotearoa. Each session provides hands-on strategies, tailored support, and tools that make a real difference in everyday life and career growth.
Community Talks in Churches
More than just free talks, these sessions are safe and engaging spaces for learning and participation. Together we explore practical tools like Networking to open new opportunities in Aotearoa, and activate community leadership through shared wisdom, and actionable insights.

We are proud to take part in a wide range of community events, from forums and bingos to festivals and other local gatherings. By showing up and getting involved, we strengthen our connection with the community, create opportunities to engage with people from all walks of life, and celebrate the spirit of togetherness.
